Armed gunman puts White House on lock down

The White House was put on lock down due to a gun toting stranger near the gate on Saturday.

According to Secret Service officials, the lock down was merely a precaution. The armed man, who was walking on the east side of Lafayette Park on Pennsylvania Avenue near Madison Place. A uniformed Secret Service agent approached the man, whose name has not yet been released. He was eventually turned over to the District of Columbia Police Department. The man faces a number of charges that include resisting arrest, carrying a firearm without a license and carrying unregistered ammunition.
U.S. President Barack Obama was not at the White House when the man was present. He was at Andrews Air Force Base in Prince George's County, Maryland, playing golf.

Earlier in the day, District of Columbia police arrested two other men in connection with spraying graffiti on sidewalks during the Million Mask March. Eric Roberts, a 27 year old man, and Danny Hamilton, a 35 year old, were both arrested during the march against government and corporate corruption but the police have not yet announced whether the two were involved with the march itself. Hamilton has been charged with destruction of government property. Roberts has been charged with defacing the U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigations building in D.C. A police cruiser was also damaged.

Police photographs of the incident showed the word "corrupt" painted on the F.B.I building and also graffiti at the new Trump International Hotel in Washington, D.C.
